What hosts often ask.

During our pilot phase, hosting is free. We provide the kiosk, software, support, and ongoing maintenance. After the pilot, we'll discuss a sustainable model with each partner — typically a low monthly fee or revenue share. We'll never surprise you with hidden costs.

SmileSafe AI owns the kiosk. We handle installation, repairs, software updates, and replacement if anything breaks. You're only responsible for keeping it plugged in and reasonably accessible to your customers.

The kiosk follows HIPAA-aligned practices. Photos and personal information are encrypted in transit and at rest. The kiosk does not store anything locally — every scan is uploaded immediately and the local copy is wiped. Your business is not handling PHI; that's our responsibility. Read our full HIPAA Notice.

Minimal — about 15 minutes for someone to learn how to point a curious customer to the kiosk and answer basic questions. The kiosk itself is self-service; users don't need help to use it. We provide simple signage and a printed FAQ.

The kiosk is clearly marked as a screening tool, not medical advice. The scan report itself directs users to see a dentist for any actual health questions. Your staff should never give medical advice — just point users to the report or to our support. Our medical disclaimer covers this in detail.

No — individual scan results are private to the user and the dentist they choose. As a host, you'll receive a quarterly report with aggregated, anonymized statistics: number of scans, demographics breakdown, dentist bookings generated. This helps you understand the impact in your community without compromising privacy.

Just let us know. During the pilot phase, you can request removal at any time with 14 days notice. We'll arrange pickup at our cost. No penalties, no questions.

Generally no — we want to reach as many people as possible. But if you're interested in a more strategic partnership (e.g. a chain pharmacy with multiple locations), we're open to discussing exclusive arrangements. Mention this in your application.
